Volunteer with North Brooklyn Angels
The North Brooklyn Angels are a volunteer-powered non-profit in Brooklyn that has been feeding meals to the community since 2017. They distribute over 2000 hot, healthy meals each week.
Meal-packing shifts (every weekday morning and Sundays) are a great place to begin volunteering with the Angels.
They are also accepting volunteers for their Little Angels initiative, which provides baby supplies to new-parents in need.

Teach with Greenpoint Community Yoga
We are always looking for new yoga teachers & wellness-offering instructors.
For yoga teachers, a 200 hour certification is required. Before you volunteer with us, we also ask that you attend our offerings so you have a feel for the space and the community.
From there, either Jenny or Julia (GCY co-leads) will attend one of your classes somewhere in public - in most cases, this will be a yoga studio where you are currently teaching. At the moment, we don’t offer individual auditions.
Previous workshops we’ve run: Meditation, Soundbaths, Bhakti Yoga (Chanting), Journaling

This collective runs on your offerings.
Jenna Swan, a member of our community, volunteered her time to make this beautiful website!
Many of the photos featured on our site were taken by a local photographer, Thomas Moore, who graciously volunteered his time and skills, too.
Even arriving 15 minutes early or staying 15 minutes after class to help set up or clean up goes a long way.
If you have any skills or offerings that could be useful to the community, be in touch.
